Quinte West OPP say an investigation is underway after a serious, targeted assault that left a 34-year-old man with stab wounds.
On Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, police issued a release saying an investigation is continuing after officers were called to an apartment on King Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024.
A 34-year-old man was found with stab wounds and was transported by Hastings Quinte Paramedics to a regional trauma centre, reported OPP.
The suspect in the incident allegedly fled the scene, and despite an extensive search of the area – involving officers, the emergency response and canine units – police said they did not find the individual.
An arrest warrant is being sought for a 38-year-old man, and a name and description will be released once the warrant is available, said police, on Wednesday.
As the “assault was targeted,” there is believed to be no risk to public safety, said OPP.
Quinte West OPP’s crime unit is continuing its investigation, and police are asking anyone with information to reach out.
