
A cyclist has died after an early-morning collision in Belleville.
According to the Belleville Police Service, on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at about 4:30 a.m., police and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics responded to a report that a car struck a cyclist near the intersection of Dundas Street West and Avonlough Road.
“The female cyclist died as a result of the collision,” reported police.
The involved driver of the car remained at the scene, added police.
On Thursday morning, police also noted that Dundas Street West between Wallbridge Loyalist Road and Avonlough Road was closed to enable police to continue their investigation.
Drivers were being asked to avoid the area.
No other details were released by police.
