Alexis Forde and Jennifer Pendergast meet Sam Rockbrune (new Executive Director of Rebound Child and Youth Services, one of the Collaborative Partnership Team members) at the site for the Port Hope Headquarters.
Youth Wellness Hub Northumberland has welcomed new staff members, Alexis Forde and Jennifer Pendergast, to lead the development of its new Port Hope Headquarters at 15 Cavan Street.
This facility, scheduled to open next summer, will provide integrated health, mental health, and social services to youth aged 12 to 25.
The Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario model, funded by the Government of Ontario, is designed to offer young people accessible, no-cost support without judgment or delays. The Port Hope location will feature a welcoming space where youth can study, play, or relax while accessing services tailored to their needs.
“I’m excited to join the team and help build something that’s informed by the voices of youth in the community,” said Forde, who will oversee care coordination and programming. Pendergast is working on plans for the physical space, aiming to create a hub where young people feel they belong.
The team has also launched a new website to keep the community informed and is recruiting for a Youth Advisory Council to guide decisions throughout the project.
