The Cobourg Police Service, in partnership with Port Hope Police and the Belleville K-9 Unit, arrested three men following an investigation into drug trafficking in Cobourg.
The investigation, which began in the summer of 2024, culminated in the arrest of Brandon Tripp, 22, and Jacob Sutherland, 19, on October 10. A subsequent search at a Chipping Park Blvd residence resulted in the seizure of two loaded firearms, ammunition, 475 grams of cocaine, 250 grams of methamphetamine, and $10,455 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs is $71,235.
Tripp and Sutherland face multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, firearm violations, and possession of proceeds of crime. A third man, Terry Woolner, 28, was also charged with possession of a Schedule I substance.
Tripp and Sutherland were held for a show cause hearing, while Woolner was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
Police say their investigation is ongoing.
