Earlier this year, Yifeng ‘Nick’ Huang took over Taft’s in Brighton, marking his first venture into business.
The last six months or so have been an incredible experience in the Brighton community, says the proud owner and CEO of Taft Auto Parts Inc.
Huang tells us he’s always had a love for engines and machinery – all things mechanical.
Flying is a lot of fun – but so is the scrapyard business, adds Huang.
Located at 345 Raglan St., the auto-recycler business has stood for some 60 years.
Haung says he took over ownership back in March and that there was just too much potential to pass on the opportunity.
He tells us more about the inspiration behind his decision.
Of course, picturesque Brighton and “great people all around” also drew in Huang to make the move here, he shares.
Haung tells us more about the business.
No matter what treasures you’re looking for, Haung says Taft’s is proud to offer affordable solutions to area residents.
Online, Taft’s is described as a place where community, convenience and sustainability meet – contributing to a greener future and keeping pace with the changing times are top-of-mind, explains Haung.
Looking back on the leap into his first business: “It turns out it was a great choice.”
As for what’s in store for the future, Haung says the team will continue to look at more ways to contribute to the community.
From helping area fire departments with scrap vehicles to practise exercises like extrication on, to possible speedway/derby racing sponsorships, and workshops to help people who want to learn more about fixing cars to do it themselves, these are just a few of the examples Haung recently zeroed in on.
While still in his first year of business, Haung says he’s looking forward to learning more about the industry and community, but down the road, there are hopes to expand, acquire more machinery, hire more people, potentially increase locations, et cetera.
