8 Wing at Canadian Force Base Trenton is involved in today’s Remembrance Day events.
Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Sargent tell us the acknowledgement of the courage and the sacrifice of veterans comes with our responsibility to appreciate the peace they fought to achieve.
Sargent says 8 Wing members reflect during the ceremonies and remain in the communities for the events after the Act of Remembrance.
A few select ceremonies include an 8 Wing flypast.
A list of which aircraft will be where can be found online. Click on the heading “Canada Remembers.”
During Remembrance Week, Sargent says 8 Wing members have been involved in the National Veterans Speakers program.
And Sargent has a personal message to you on this Remembrance Day.
Sargent says the importance of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month can’t be overstated. Not only does it commemorate the signing of the Armistice at the end of the First World War, it serves as a precious moment for reflection and remembrance of Canadians who made the ultimate sacrifice.
