Northumberland OPP say a 56-year-old truck driver from New Brunswick has been charged with careless driving in connection with Saturday’s tractor-trailer crash that snarled traffic on Hwy. 401 near Brighton.
According to police, the collision involved a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle.
The commercial truck driver was sent to hospital with minor injuries, reported OPP.
The incident occurred shortly before 5:30 a.m. The westbound lanes were closed for several hours after the transport truck ended up on its side and spilling its load onto the highway, the shoulder of the road and the northside ditch.
