Organizations across Northumberland are in the spirit of giving to help those in need this holiday season.
Brighton Evangel Pentecostal Church’s Hamper program is in its 59th year. Senior lead Pastor Glen Halliwell tells us the need is great and they can use your help.
Halliwell says gifts and toys will be given based on age and need. Sign-up for the program continues at the church.
Halliwell says the hamper program is about local residents helping their neighbours.
Halliwell believes nourishment of the body and spirit are essential at this time of year.
Dec. 10 is the deadline to register for the hamper program in-person at Brighton Evangel Pentecostal Church, which is located at 30 Butler St.
If you can donate items or cash do it now, say organizers. Your contribution goes directly into the food hampers that will be distributed.
The church is open for hamper program registration and donations Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
