
Bancroft OPP say they seized about $50,000 in drugs and cash from a home last Friday, Dec. 20.
Last Friday, Dec. 20, shortly after 9 a.m., officers reportedly attended a residence in Bancroft to retrieve medications for an individual who was in police custody. According to OPP, while at the residence, they found an individual wanted by police.
Police allege the arrest also led to the seizure of multiple suspected drugs and cash.
Police are reporting more than $2,000, along with 104 grams of suspected fentanyl, 11 grams of suspected cocaine, 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 16 grams of suspected heroin, and 17 pills of suspected oxycodone, were allegedly found.
As a result of the investigation, police said Mitchell Grimes, 33, was charged with: Three counts of failure to comply with a release order, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drug, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, possession of a schedule I substance for the purposing of trafficking – heroin, and possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing, police reported over the weekend.
