A wanted individual has been arrested in connection with a violent robbery in Trent Hills that occurred in October.
On December 20, 2024, with assistance from the Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu Police Service in Quebec, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) apprehended Dustin Wesenberg, 30. Wesenberg was transported to Northumberland County, where he is facing multiple charges, including robbery using a firearm, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.
The alleged incident took place on October 18, 2024, at a residence on Church Lane in Hastings. Police say three suspects assaulted and threatened the resident, stole a mobile phone, and brandished a firearm. Over the course of several weeks, police arrested multiple individuals linked to the case, including one suspect in Havelock on November 18.
Wesenberg now faces additional charges, including unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm and failure to comply with probation orders. The investigation, led by the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit, remains active, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting the Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Authorities have commended the collaboration between regional police services that led to the arrest and continue to seek information from the public to ensure all individuals involved are held accountable.
