There’s still time to help name new streets in Brighton.
The municipality’s public consultation process is ongoing until the end of this month (Jan. 31, 2025.)
Residents are being asked to weigh in with ideas and help establish a list for the naming of new streets, with suggestions set to later go to council for approval.
Proposals may help define an area and can centre around honouring local history and strengthening a sense of community and civic pride.
Name suggestions need to be submitted before Jan. 31 via email at rwarne@brighton.ca.
The idea is the list of potential street names will serve as a council-approved list that developers can choose from rather than proposing their own names for streets, explained municipal staff.
More public consultation details are accessible via the municipality’s website.
