Quinte West is on the receiving end of an Ontario government grant of more than $11 million dollars.
Mayor Jim Harrison tells us the money will be used for a harmonization project involving Hwy. 2 and Second Dug Hill Road.
Harrison says it’s the largest amount of grant money Quinte West has ever received from the province.
Harrison says the money is from the Ontario Housing Enabling Core Servicing stream. He credits municipal staff for doing their homework to make it happen.
Harrison says the grant money is 50-60 per cent of what Quinte West needs and calls it a good start.
Construction is supposed to start in summer and be completed by the end of 2027.
