Traffic issues were being reported briefly Thursday in the eastbound Hwy. 401 County Road 40 Trenton area after OPP say a truck jackknifed trying to get on the onramp.
The onramp had to be closed with the truck blocking the lane; however, OPP has now confirmed the truck has been towed.
Whiteout conditions have been causing reduced visibility in the area, and the snow and freezing rain are making for slippery roads and keeping first-responders busy.
In the latest from Northumberland OPP, there were no major collisions being reported. However, earlier Thursday, Northumberland OPP issued an advisory urging people to avoid unnecessary travel Thursday, describing roads as hazardous.
If people do have to travel, police are urging residents to adjust their driving to the weather conditions.
