The 437 Transport Squadron at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton has welcomed Dr. Tarek Sardana as its new Honorary Colonel (HCol) during an investiture ceremony on February 26, 2025.
The squadron also bid farewell to HCol Bruce Bowser, who served in the role since 2017.
HCol Sardana, a former Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) officer and aerospace medicine expert, expressed his excitement about returning to 8 Wing Trenton. He previously served as Wing Surgeon at 8 Wing from 1999 to 2002 and is currently the Chief Medical Officer of HCP Diagnostics.
Lieutenant-Colonel Shane Antoniuk, Commanding Officer of 437 Transport Squadron, welcomed HCol Sardana, highlighting his experience, leadership, and dedication to the RCAF.
Established in 1961, 437 Squadron plays a critical role in long-range transport and VIP airlift missions. The squadron operates CC-150 Polaris and CC-330 Husky aircraft, supporting Canadian Forces, NATO, and humanitarian missions worldwide.
The Honorary Colonel position is advisory, helping maintain unit traditions and engage with the local community.
