Dominique Sayers, owner of B&D Liquidation, has been named the 2025 William Crossen Young Professional Award winner. The award, presented by the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Cobourg, recognizes outstanding business professionals under 40.
Sayers took over majority ownership of B&D Liquidation from her father, Blake Sayers, continuing the store’s commitment to offering quality, brand-name products at discount prices. The business has evolved with B&D Bins, a unique retail strategy where product prices drop daily, attracting repeat customers.
“I am proud to be a business owner in Cobourg and proud to be among some wonderful and hardworking young business owners,” said Sayers.
Business Achievement Award Co-Chair Alison Lester praised Sayers’ innovation and adaptability, calling her an example of successful business succession.
“This award is not just about myself, but I have my parents, my husband and my entire team behind me to thank, for helping me becoming the person I am today, for making me want to continuously be better, for picking me up when I stumble, for having my back and for being my family. I am only as good as my team, and I have the best standing beside me. I am looking forward to continuing to do what I love and providing the best liquidation store in Northumberland County with the best deals.”
The award will be officially presented at the Business Achievement Awards on March 28, 2025, at the Best Western PLUS Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre.
