Local healthcare is getting a boost thanks to the Heartful Women’s Giving Circle, which has raised more than $15,000 in support of essential equipment for cataract surgeries at Trenton Memorial Hospital (TMH.)
Specifically, the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation said the monies raised are helping to fund three Ozil handpieces for cataract surgeries – such equipment is described as critical with an average 75 surgeries performed weekly at the hospital. These surgeries help restore vision for local residents.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the success of this year’s Heartful Women of TMH giving circle,” said Aleesha Camp, one of Heartful Women of TMH founders and TMHF board chair. “… It’s truly inspiring to see the difference we can make when we come together for a common cause.”
The Heartful Women’s Giving Circle is described as a community-driven group dedicated to enhancing healthcare at TMH.
How does it work? The circle’s 39 members contribute $1 daily – or $365 annually – pooling resources to find vital hospital equipment.
The group is always looking for new members and meets three times a year to zero in on hospital priorities, vote on funding projects, and celebrate members’ collective impact.
The circle meets again on June 4, 2025, where members will decide on what’s next to help TMH.
