
A drug-trafficking investigation by the Belleville Police Service has led to the seizure of more than 126 grams of cocaine, and the arrest of six Belleville and two Trenton residents, say police.
According to police, on April 14, 2025, as a result of the investigation, members with the service’s Project Renewal team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant in the city’s west end, with help from the canine unit and emergency response team.
Police allege they seized 126.2 grams of cocaine, ammunition, including eight shotgun shells and three .270 calibre rifle cartridges, eight cellphones, and digital scales.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 32-year-old Belleville resident and a 40-year-old Belleville resident were both charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, and possession of ammunition – contrary to court order.
Police said another 36-year-old Belleville resident, a 37-year-old Belleville resident, a 19-year-old Belleville resident, and a 51-year-old Belleville resident were also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, while the 36-year-old was additionally charged with failure to comply with probation.
A 27-year-old Trenton resident was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, failure to comply with probation, and failure to comply with a release order, and another 46-year-old Trenton resident with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, reported police.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
