With the federal election less than two weeks away, voters in the Northumberland-Clarke riding will have the opportunity to cast their ballots early during advance polling days from April 18 to April 21.
Polling stations in the riding will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the four-day advance voting period. However, Elections Canada reminds voters that federal election rules differ from provincial elections-voters must attend their assigned advance polling location, which is listed on their voter information card or can be found using the Voter Information Service.
Something to bear in mind is that unlike in Ontario’s provincial elections, where you can vote at any advance polling station in the province, federal election rules require voters to attend their designated station.
In addition to advance polling stations, early voting is also available at all 500 Elections Canada offices nationwide until Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m. These offices allow eligible voters to vote by special ballot.
Elections Canada encourages all voters to be prepared by checking the location of their polling station, bringing accepted ID, and reviewing voting options ahead of time.
The official election day is set for Monday, April 28.
