The Belleville Fire Department has knocked down a blaze at what’s believed to be a residential building under construction in the Sidney and Tracey streets area.
In an update from the Belleville Police Service, officials confirmed the fire was extinguished but said crews would remain on scene as the investigation continues.
While nothing appears suspicious about the incident, the investigation will continue, noted officials.
No injuries were reported.
Police have also reopened the Sidney Street to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
