The Port Hope Police Service says a Cobourg man has been charged with voyeurism following an investigation.
Police said 32-year-old Evan Taylor has been charged under Section 162(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada after officers received a report on April 29. Police said the accused is a registered massage therapist who practised at the Port Hope Sports and Rehabilitation Centre, where the alleged incident is reported to have occurred.
The charge stems from an alleged offence that took place at Taylor’s workplace, said police. The Port Hope Sports and Rehabilitation Centre is fully co-operating with the investigation and has committed to maintaining transparency with authorities, said police.
The Port Hope Police Service criminal investigative branch is leading the case. Investigators said they believe there may be more individuals affected and are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Anyone wanting to speak with police is encouraged to contact the Port Hope Police Service.
No further details have been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
This charge has not been proven in court.
