A Campbellford woman has been charged following a single-vehicle collision that ended with a car on fire in Cramahe Township.
Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Northumberland OPP, Cramahe Township Fire Department, and County paramedics responded to the crash on County Road 21 near Walker Road.
Police say the vehicle left the road, struck a tree, and landed on its roof in the ditch. It then caught fire. Two occupants inside the vehicle were transported to hospital with what were described as relatively minor injuries.
Following the investigation, a 31-year-old Campbellford resident was arrested and charged with four Criminal Code offences. Those charges include dangerous operation causing bodily harm, obstructing a peace officer, operating while prohibited, and failing to stop after an accident.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in June.
