
Northumberland OPP says charges have been in laid in sexual assault investigation and a 59-year-old Port Hope man arrested.
In a release issued Wednesday, May 7, 2025, police said they had charged an individual in relation to alleged sexual offences in the Municipality of Port Hope.
The Northumberland OPP crime unit started their investigation on April 18, 2025, after receiving a report from a neighboring police service relating to alleged sexual offences, reads the release.
The victim was known to the accused, reported OPP.
On April 19, 2025, police said a search warrant was executed at a residence and OPP forensic identification services assisted with the investigation.
As a result of the investigation, police said Anthony Zlot, 59, of the Municipality of Port Hope, was arrested and charged with following Criminal Code offences: Assault, sexual interference, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation.
The accused was held for a bail hearing scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on April 19, 2025, said police.
