Northumberland OPP say a 32-year-old Loyalist Township resident is facing a manslaughter charge in relation to a death investigation at Warkworth Institution dating back two years ago.
In an update on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, police said Quinnton Drake, 32, of Loyalist Township, was charged with manslaughter.
This charge has not been proven in court.
Police said their investigation started on May 28, 2023, shortly after 7 p.m., after OPP received information about an incident involving inmates at the institution. One person sustained serious injuries, added police.
On June 23, 2023, police said the individual succumbed to their injuries, prompting a homicide investigation by the Northumberland OPP crime unit, under the direction of the criminal investigation branch and with help from the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services.
