In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise has announced the launch of a one-time $25,000 community grant to help registered local charitable organizations and/or non-profits.
The grant program is meant to commemorate the club’s quarter-century of dedication to “service above self,” while also investing in the future of Northumberland by supporting a transformative local initiative, says the club.
“We are thrilled to mark this milestone by giving back in a way that reflects our core values,” says President Denise O’Brien. “This grant is both a ‘thank you’ to the community that has supported us over the years and a catalyst for meaningful, lasting change.”
The grant goes above and beyond the $17-to-$20,000 in funds the club distributes to the community in a normal year.
The application period is June 1 to July 30, 2025, with the recipient announcement anticipated in October 2025. Other details applicants should note include project timelines – projects looking for a boost need to be implemented in late 2025/within the first six months of 2026, according to the club.
Projects must demonstrate strong community impact, align with Rotary’s values, and focus on areas such as education, health, economic development, environmental sustainability, and more, reads a recent release.
Applicants will be evaluated on their project’s feasibility, sustainability, innovation and alignment with at least one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus, which include peacebuilding, disease prevention, and environmental stewardship.
Eligible organizations can submit proposals, along with project and budget summaries, timeline info and a community impact statement, via email at northumberlandrotary@gmail.com.
Fulsome details on application guidelines are accessible via the club’s website.
