
An investigation is continuing after a two-vehicle crash shut down Hwy. 401 in Port Hope over the weekend and sent four people to hospital, says Northumberland OPP.
On Monday, May 19, 2025, at about 11:40 p.m., emergency crews responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes.
One vehicle was reported to be on fire and several people were injured, said OPP.
Police said four occupants were sent to a local hospital and two individuals were then transported to Toronto-area hospitals. Injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
Hwy. 401 reopened at about 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20.
