
Peterborough, Hastings Highlands and Faraday Township residents are facing charges after a large drug bust in Faraday Township, says OPP.
According to Bancroft OPP, the OPP’s East Region community street crime unit launched an investigation earlier this spring. On May 22, 2025, the street crime unit, uniformed officers, and the OPP’s emergency response team executed a search warrant at residence on Hwy. 28 South in Faraday Township.
As a result of the investigation, officers allegedly seized almost 20 grams of suspected fentanyl, more than 160 grams of suspected cocaine, over 20 grams of suspected heroin, along with suspected crystal methamphetamine, psilocybin and lorazepam pills, more than 20 grams of suspected MDMA, 20 suspected methamphetamine (speed) pills, over 300 suspected hydromorphone pills, 50 suspected oxycodone pills, and over 20 suspected morphine pills. In addition, OPP said more than $900 in cash, along with three scales and a cellphone, were seized.
The accused include a 46-year-old from Faraday Township, a 28-year-old Peterborough resident, and a 30-year-old Hastings Highland resident, who are all charged with nine counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The Faraday Township resident was additionally charged with two counts of breach of a release order, and the Hastings Highland resident further charged with breach of a probation order, reported OPP.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
