Residents, families, and staff at Golden Plough Lodge came together on earlier this month for a vibrant day of care, connection, and wellness.
The long-term care home hosted a Wellness and Health Fair focused on promoting mental health and overall well-being. The event was made possible thanks to support from Cameco, a company committed to making a long-term difference in the community.
The fair featured a mix of calming and energising activities, including mindfulness workshops, Zumba, creative arts sessions, and mini manicures. Residents also enjoyed therapeutic experiences such as reiki and a visit to a petting zoo, creating joyful moments and emotional comfort.
“This event created meaningful moments of connection and care,” said Glenn Dees, Northumberland County’s Director of Health and Human Services. “It reminded us how important it is to nurture well-being in long-term care settings. We sincerely appreciate Cameco’s contribution.”
Cameco’s support allowed the Lodge to expand the range of activities and deepen the experience for all involved.
“Cameco is happy to support collaborative mental health events such as the Golden Plough Lodge’s Wellness and Health Fair,” said Dale Clark, Cameco’s vice-president of Fuel Services. “Mental wellbeing is a vital part of overall health and quality of life.”
The Golden Plough Lodge continues to focus on community-driven, inclusive wellness initiatives that enhance life for its residents and their families.
