A new campaign aiming to strengthen Northumberland’s economy by encouraging local shopping is asking residents to weigh in.
Prosper in Northumberland-a collaboration of local businesses, municipalities, and community groups-is launching a Buy Local campaign this summer. Before it goes live, they’re asking people across the county to complete a short consumer survey.
The survey asks residents about their shopping habits, what motivates them to shop locally, and what challenges might hold them back. Organisers say this input will help shape a campaign that reflects the values and needs of the community.
“Supporting local keeps money in our communities, creates jobs, and helps build a more resilient economy,” say organisers from Prosper in Northumberland.
The initiative comes at a time when small businesses continue to face economic pressures, from international trade challenges to shifting consumer behaviour.
By gathering ideas and understanding local shopping trends, Prosper in Northumberland hopes to build a campaign that truly resonates.
The survey is available now through the Prosper in Northumberland website, and residents are encouraged to share their thoughts.
Take part by completing the “Prosper in Northumberland Consumer Survey” online.
The campaign officially launches this summer and will include local promotions, awareness efforts, and calls to action across the region.
