
Northumberland OPP say charges have been laid after a single-vehicle crash in the Municipality of Port Hope.
On Friday, June 13, 2025, shortly before 2 a.m., OPP said officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Morrish Church Road.
When police arrived, they observed a number of tire marks on the road leading to the passenger vehicle in the ditch, reported OPP.
After speaking with the uninjured driver, police said they initiated an impaired driving investigation, resulting in the accused being taken into custody and transported to a local detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 27-year-old Lyndhurst resident was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and driver motor vehicle – perform stunt.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
