A Belleville resident is facing a dangerous driving charge after an investigation into a crash going back to last year on Hwy. 401 in the Township of Hamilton, say Northumberland OPP.
According to police, back on Nov. 6, 2024, at about 3:15 p.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on Hwy. 401 westbound. When officers arrived, they reportedly found a heavily damaged pick-up truck on the north side of the highway.
The lone occupant was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, reported OPP.
In an update on Friday, June 13, 2025, police said an arrest was made in connection with their investigation on June 8, 2025.
As a result of their probe, police said a 34-year-old Belleville man was charged with dangerous operation.
This charge has not been proven in court. The accused is set to appear in Cobourg court later in July.
Police are thanking the public for its help with their investigation. OPP had previously put out a call for any witnesses to step forward.
