
Quinte West OPP is calling on the public for help with an investigation into a serious crash that has left one person with life-threatening injuries.
Emergency crews – including OPP officers, OPP’s traffic incident management and enforcement team, firefighters and paramedics – responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Old Hwy. 2, east of Montrose Road, just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
The driver – a 60-year-old Quinte West man – was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, reported OPP, in an update on Wednesday, June 18.
No other individuals were involved.
The crash shut down Old Hwy. 2 between Montrose Road and Wallbridge Loyalist Road for several hours for the on-site investigation, with people being asked to avoid the area.
On Wednesday, investigators issued a public plea asking any witnesses or anyone with dashcam video or any other information relating to their probe to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Police also provided a reference number of E250782858.
