Northumberland OPP are investigating a strange break and enter in Warkworth after a residence on Concession Street West was entered during daytime hours.
Homeowners contacted police on Wednesday, June 18, after returning home around 5 p.m. to find their house had been disturbed. Police say entry may have been made through an unlocked sliding patio door. The interior showed signs someone had been inside for a while—dishes were left in the sink, packaging from food taken from the freezer was found in the garbage, and the homeowners’ bed had clearly been slept in. Items were also moved throughout the home.
At this time, nothing has been reported stolen.
The break-in occurred sometime between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Police are asking anyone with information about suspicious activity in the area that day to come forward.
