A 23-year-old Colborne woman has been charged after police responded to an alleged assault.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, Northumberland OPP said police were told about an assault that allegedly occurred on June 16, 2025, at a residence in Colborne.
While speaking with the victim, OPP said the investigating officer observed obvious injuries.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 23-year-old Colborne woman was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle.
This charge has not been proven in court.
The accused was released with conditions and will appear in Cobourg court in July, reported OPP.
The name of the accused won’t be released to protect the identity of the victim, said police.
No other details were provided.
