A 23-year-old Quinte West man is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges after a collision, says OPP.
On Monday, June 23, 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., Quinte West OPP said a collision in the Dundas Street East and Marmora Street intersection area led police to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The accused was arrested and transported to the Quinte West OPP detachment for testing, resulting in charges being laid, said police.
As a result of the investigation, police said the accused was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and dangerous operation.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, reported OPP.
The accused is set to appear in Belleville court on July 31, 2025.
