Starting July 1, the Municipality of Brighton says staff are starting to look at a “visual identity refresh.”
While upcoming work will only mark an initial phase in the process, staff said the initiative is ultimately about modernizing the municipality’s corporate brand, while thoughtfully reflecting its past, present and bright future.
To achieve this, staff said they will be working alongside a Kitchener-based branding agency known as the Blondes and the community to conduct an extensive public consultation process to help guide the refresh.
In other words, Brightonians will have their say.
“The initiative to pursue a visual identity refresh was approved by council during the 2025 operating budget, as the current logo has been in use since the amalgamation in January 2001,” noted staff.
For residents looking to get involved, there will be in-person engagement booths set up at a couple locations throughout July and starting on Canada Day, with a booth at King Edward Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Booths will then be set up at the Codrington Farmers’ Market on Sunday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Wednesday, July 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. during Concerts in the Park at Memorial Park.
In addition to these in-person opportunities, there will also be a public survey component opening July 1 and closing July 25. Residents can fill out the survey via the municipality’s website or pick up hard copies.
Hard-copy surveys will be available at the Municipal Centre and Brighton Public Library, the King Edward Park Arena, the Municipal Public Works Building (67 Sharp Rd.), and Brighton by the Bay (8 Mills Rd.)
A new logo is set to be officially unveiled in January 2026.
