A collision involving a passenger vehicle and e-scooter has claimed the life of the e-scooter operator, says Quinte West OPP.
In an update on Thursday, July 3, 2025, police said the 36-year-old operator of the e-scooter had died following the collision on Stockdale Road Tuesday night (July 1.)
According to police, emergency crews responded to the crash around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The crash shut down Stockdale Road between Miron and Lock roads to the Hwy. 33 roundabout until just after 4 a.m. the following morning.
The e-scooter operator was initially transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced deceased, reported police.
OPP’s technical collision investigators were called in to the scene and are continuing to help with the ongoing probe, said police.
Quinte West OPP is also calling on the public for help, asking anyone with information or video footage to reach out to investigators by calling 1-888-310-1122. Crime Stoppers is another option and is anonymous – tips can be submitted online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
No other details were released by police.
