
A Brighton man is facing charges after a Quinte West OPP impaired driving investigation.
On July 23, 2025, at about 9 p.m., police said a traffic complaint on Monogram Place led OPP to suspect a motorist may have been impaired.
The driver ended up being arrested and transported to the police station where charges were laid, said police.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 36-year-old Brighton man was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood drug concentration, and possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Belleville court on Aug. 11, 2025, reported OPP.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Police continue to ask citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
