Three people are facing drug-trafficking charges after raids in Quinte West and Stirling, says OPP.
Earlier this year, OPP said members of its East Region community street crime unit launched in an investigation into alleged drug-trafficking in the area, resulting in raids on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with help from OPP’s emergency response team, canine unit and Quinte West and Central Hastings OPP officers.
Warrants were executed at residences on Whites Road in Quinte West and West Front Street in Stirling, as well as at a business on West Front Street in Stirling and associated vehicles, which led to three people arrested, reported OPP.
Investigators allege they seized more than 92 grams of suspected cocaine, nearly 270 grams of suspected psilocybin power and suspected LSD and psilocybin pills, along with almost $10,000 in cash and items normally associated with drug-trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 41-year-old Stirling resident was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Police said a 37-year-old Quinte West resident and a 33-year-old Quinte West resident were also charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The 33-year-old was released from custody and will appear in Belleville court on Aug. 25, while the other two accused individuals were held in custody and scheduled to appear for a bail hearing Thursday, July 31, 2025, reported OPP, on Thursday.
