A 74-year-old Colborne resident is facing weapon-related charges after Northumberland OPP says police responded to a dispute call.
On Monday, July 28, 2025, just before 9:30 p.m., police were called to a residence on Telephone Road in the Township of Cramahe following a report of a dispute with concerns that firearms may be involved, said police.
After arriving on scene, officers allegedly found several rifles and shotguns that were being stored in an unsafe manner and seized the firearms and ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 74-year-old Colborne resident was taken into custody and charged with six counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused will appear in Cobourg court in September.
