Belleville police say they’ve taken more than 65 grams of suspected fentanyl off the streets.
A drug-trafficking investigation by the “Project Renewal” team resulted in two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrants being executed in the west end of the city on July 30, 2025, said police.
The team had help from the canine and emergency response units, reported the service.
Investigators allege they seized 10.2 grams of suspected cocaine, 65.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, four cellphones, and roughly $189 in Canadian currency.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 59-year-old Belleville man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000.
A 34-year-old Belleville woman was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, and possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine. Another 62-year-old Belleville resident was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
