
An attempted murder charge has been laid after a person reported shots allegedly fired at a home on High Shore Road, near Hwy. 7 in Marmora and Lake Township, says OPP.
Police said they responded to the “firearms-related incident” Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, just after 1 p.m., following the report of shots fired.
“No serious injuries were reported,” said OPP, in a release issued Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025.
Central Hastings OPP officers, alongside members of OPP’s emergency response team and canine unit, “converged on the scene.”
“An individual was located less than an hour later and was arrested without further incident,” reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation – which also included members of the Central Hastings OPP crime unit and forensic identification services – police said Jason Fluke, 46, of Marmora and Lake, was charged with attempt to commit murder, discharge a firearm with intent, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, using a firearm while committing an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, forcible entry, break and enter, theft under $5,000, and mischief – destroys or damages property.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was held in custody with a bail hearing scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, reported OPP.
No other details were released by police.
