
A Brighton man is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash in Quinte West, says OPP.
On Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, at about 7:15 p.m., following a single-vehicle crash on DJ Whites Road, police reported initiating an impaired driving investigation. After an approved screening device was utilized, Quinte West OPP said the driver was arrested and transported to the police station for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 54-year-old Brighton resident was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
OPP continues to ask citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
