The Bay of Quinte has unveiled the winners of its inaugural 40 UNDER 40 awards, celebrating 44 young leaders across the region, including a group nomination for the Belleville Police Services Community Resource Unit.
Over 200 nominations were submitted, highlighting leadership in business, community service, and innovation.
Brighton community members Meghan “Meg” Fox, Ben Hagerman, and Caroline Birch were recognized among the winners.
The awards ceremony will take place on September 25 at Signal Brewery in Belleville, featuring a keynote address by serial entrepreneur Sarah Prevette and live performances by local band Moon Sugar. Tickets are available online, with single tickets priced at $75 and high-top table packages for groups.
Dug Stevenson, Executive Director of the Regional Marketing Board, praised the quality of applications. “From Brighton to Napanee and everywhere in between, we’re inspired by the young leaders driving change in our communities,” he said.
One unique element of the program is follow-up events where winners will collaborate to generate ideas for community development across the Bay of Quinte. Organizers hope these sessions will harness the creativity and knowledge of local leaders to make a meaningful impact in the region.
The 40 UNDER 40 program will alternate annually with a 40 OVER 40 awards program, beginning in 2026, recognizing established leaders. More information on winners, tickets, and sponsorship opportunities is available at BayofQuinte.ca/4040.
