
An 11-month probe into alleged shoplifting of liquor in the Township of Cramahe has led to two arrests.
Northumberland OPP said back on Oct. 11, 2025, police responded to a report involving a theft from a commercial premises on Toronto Street.
βIt was reported that several individuals stole approximately $865 worth of liquor,β reported OPP, adding that surveillance footage indicated the incident occurred on Oct. 6, 2024.
Following an investigation spanning nearly 11 months, two persons were identified and located by police, and on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, officers arrested both individuals, said OPP.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Scarborough resident and 20-year-old Toronto resident were both charged with theft under $5,000 β shoplifting.
None of these charges have been proven in court. Both of the accused will appear in Cobourg court in October.
