Four recent traffic complaints have led Quinte West OPP to lay impaired driving charges over the span of two days, say police.
The separate alleged incidents were last Friday, Sept. 12 and Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, reported OPP.
Last Friday night, just before 8 o’clock, police said they responded to a traffic complaint in the Glen Ross Road area leading to impaired driving investigation and an arrest.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 63-year-old Quinte West woman was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – combined blood alcohol and blood drug concentration (80 plus) and having care or control of a vehicle with liquor readily available.
Last Thursday, at about 8:30 p.m., another traffic complaint on Hwy. 2 led police to initiate an impaired driving investigation and another arrest.
As a result of this investigation, a 52-year-old Quinte West man was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
In another call last Thursday night just before 11 o’clock, police made another arrest after officers responded to a traffic complaint in the Stockdale Road area.
A 45-year-old Prince Edward County man was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
Also last Thursday, at about 11:15 p.m., officers responded to another complaint in the 2nd Dug Hill Road area, again, leading to an impaired driving investigation.
The accused is a 28-year-old Quinte West woman, who was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
None of the charges in the above unrelated incidents have been proven in court.
Police said all of the accused were released from custody and will appear in Belleville court at a later date.
In addition to being dished out a future court date, all of the accused also had their licences suspended for 90 days, and the vehicles were impounded for seven days.
