A Toronto resident is facing charges after a traffic stop in Consecon, says Prince Edward County OPP.
According to OPP, officers initiated the traffic stop over the weekend – last Saturday, Sept. 13, at about 2 a.m. – and after speaking with the driver, suspected the individual was under the influence of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, police said the driver was arrested and transported back to the station.
The accused is a 35-year-old Toronto resident who was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and driving with an open container of alcohol.
None of these charges have been proven in court. Police said the accused was released from custody and will appear in Picton court on Oct. 8, 2025.
The individual also had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
