A 65-year-old Quinte West resident has been charged after an impaired driving investigation, says OPP.
On Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at about 3:45 p.m., Quinte West OPP said police received a traffic complaint in the Quinte Street area, which led officers to suspect a motorist may have been impaired.
Police said the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment where charges were laid.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 65-year-old Quinte West resident was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
This charge has not been proven in court. Police said the accused was released from custody and will appear in Belleville court on Nov. 6, 2025.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Quinte West OPP continues to ask citizens who suspect someone is driving – or about to drive impaired – to call 911 and report it.
