A 26-year-old Belleville man is facing charges for allegedly repeatedly calling 911 and police for “non-emergent issues.”
According to the Belleville Police Service, on Sept. 25, 2025, the service received multiple calls and hang ups from the same phone number.
On several occurrences, police said voice contact was made with an individual who reported he was being followed. However, officers said they investigated allegations with negative results.
Just after 10 a.m. that day, police said a 26-year-old Belleville man was arrested for “the repeated 911 communications.”
The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions to not call 911 or BPS unless for emergency purposes, said police.
Police allege the man continued to contact BPS for “non-emergent issues” and was cautioned – then, at about 2:40 p.m., following continued 911 calls, officers responded to his residence and made an arrest.
Police said the accused is facing charges around public mischief, common nuisance, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused was initially held for a bail hearing.
