Northumberland didn’t hesitate to answer the call for furry friends in need at this year’s “Putt4Paws,” raising a staggering $30,000.
The fundraiser held at the Dalewood Golf Club is being hailed as a resounding success by the Northumberland Humane Society, with organizers saying dollars raised will have a big impact across the county.
“We are so grateful for the support we received,” said Susan Edwards, NHS’ board chair. “Exceeding our goal shows the power of this community coming together to create second chances for animals – every dollar raised represents lives saved.”
Funds raised will directly help with vet care and shelter costs, as well as supplies, to care for abandoned, abused and homeless animals, added officials.
“NHS extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the day possible – from the generous sponsors who stepped forward, to the participants who hit the greens, (to) our dedicated volunteers and the bidders who helped raise the bar at our silent auction. Together, you helped us create a brighter future for animals in Northumberland County,” said the society.
