After a car allegedly failed to stop at a RIDE check in Kingston, OPP says officers have made a significant seizure of illegal drugs, in addition to $11,000 in cash.
According to OPP, the alleged incident happened Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, when a car initially failed to stop for police during a RIDE program at the Montreal Street exit on Hwy. 401 in Kingston. However, the vehicle was subsequently stopped nearby, with the initial investigation leading to an arrest, reported police.
Investigators further allege that a search of the vehicle turned up more than 450 grams of suspected methamphetamine and more than 225 grams of suspected cocaine, along with about $11,000 in cash.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 31-year-old Toronto woman was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, obstructing a peace officer, two counts of operation of a vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code, driving while under suspension, operating a vehicle without insurance, disobeying an officer directing traffic, and failure to comply with a probation order.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused was released from custody after a bail hearing and will appear back in court on Nov. 6, reported OPP.
